The Hong Kong Economic Association (HKEA) has been hosting its biennial conferences since 2000. Each time we had world class scholars in Economics and prominent leaders including the Financial Secretary and the Secretary for Financial Services to serve as keynote speakers. Each time it is well attended, with participants coming from countries/regions across the world. The success of this event has been made possible by the united effort of all seven universities in Hong Kong.
The 8th Biennial Conference of the HKEA will be held in and hosted by Shandong University, Jinan City, China, during 13-14 December, 2014. Papers in all fields of economics are welcome. Acceptance notice of will be sent to you as soon as possible. Registration deadline is 15 October 2014 and the registration fee includes conference package, two lunches and a conference dinner. Participants are welcome to submit their papers to the Pacific Economic Review, the official journal of the Hong Kong Economic Association, and also Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics.

Hotels near Shandong University:

Participants are recommended to stay at the University Hotel or the Jinan NSHT Hotel. Breakfast is included in the hotel fee. HKEA will book the room for you prior to the conference. Payment can be made by yourself when you check out after the conference. Please fill in this form and send your hotel reservation to us by listing your dates of stay, hotel and room choices.
Post-conference trip to Qufu (15 December 2014):
We will also organize a post-conference trip to Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, on 15 December, 2014 (departure by bus at about 9:00am and returning to your hotel at 6:00pm). Please let us know if you will join the trip.
The (subsidized) charge is RMB200 per person which covers bus fair, all entry tickets to the Mansion, Temple, and Cemetery of Confucius, and lunch.
